Clifton named finalist in the 2026 Best Design Awards
Urbanfunction’s Clifton project has been named a finalist in the 2026 Best Design Awards in the Residential Interior Architecture & Interior Design category.
Designed by Urbanfunction Architecture in Christchurch, New Zealand, Clifton is a compact coastal home shaped by its connection to place, materiality and everyday living.
The interior combines warm timber linings, natural materials and carefully considered moments of colour within a restrained architectural palette. Split levels, changing volumes and framed views allow the home to feel generous while working within a compact footprint.
Recognition in the Best Design Awards follows Clifton Interior receiving the 2026 ADNZ Canterbury Regional Award for Home Interiors, alongside recognition for Colour & Design.
The Best Design Awards, organised by the Designers Institute of New Zealand, celebrate excellence across Aotearoa’s design disciplines. The 2026 winners will be announced in Auckland in October.
We’re proud to see Clifton recognised alongside some of New Zealand’s leading work in architecture and interior design.
