The dwelling takes a restrained rectangular form that subtly bends north, opening itself to multiple view corridors while carving out a sheltered western courtyard. This protected outdoor space offers relief from prevailing winds and creates a calm, usable edge to the home.
Designed for a professional couple and their dog, the home balances intimacy with flexibility, easily expanding to accommodate family life or visiting guests over time.
Anchored at the road, the house steps gently down the site, working with the natural topography. Internally, a sequence of split levels and a sunken lounge establish a sense of movement and progression. The entry leads into a long, transparent hallway, offering layered views through the building and reinforcing a strong connection to the landscape beyond.
Timber elements, both inside and out, soften the architecture, balancing the clean geometry with warmth and texture.
